About the work

Something continues to circulate in the sonic ruins of the carnival. A dark presence inspects the space. It proceeds like a machine charged with verifying that no fragment of disorder has survived.

Now, the space contracts. The reverberation disappears. The walls draw closer. The air itself seems to have been removed.

Then someone knocks at a door. A voice says: "I have locked myself out of my apartment."

Which apartment is this voice speaking of?

At that moment, the apartment ceases to be a physical place. It is the inner space of the individual. I am outside of myself. Something still holds the key. That something is perhaps no longer me. Intimacy has vanished.

When authority no longer even needs to be present to keep an individual from reaching himself, it has probably attained its most perfect form.

Electronic chants appear. They seem to come from elsewhere. Salvation or catastrophe: we cannot tell. They move around the listener. They draw near. They vanish. They return. Something is trying to be born. Then the chants fade away.4

A destructured drone appears. Not a melody. Not a discourse. An unstable matter, a mass of sound that holds no form long enough to be identified.

This, perhaps, is what resistance is now: to become impossible to measure, impossible to classify, impossible to predict. Little by little, it too disappears.

Everything seems over, but Something remains. A metallic creature. We do not know where it comes from. Perhaps it was there from the beginning. Perhaps it is what the human being becomes when, for long enough, his inner space is taken from him.

The sound narration stops before answering.

The question is perhaps no longer who controls the machine. It is at what moment we began to think like it.

About the artist

SzSoundZ is a music project that blends the energy of sonic rock with electronic textures. Starting from this foundation, it has naturally evolved into a polymorphic kind of music, exploring the possibilities of sampling, guitar, and purely electronic composition. From this alchemy emerge soundscapes and inner explorations. A flexible project, SzSoundZ adapts to contexts and encounters. Largely improvised, its music unfolds according to the emotions of the moment, reaching both body and mind and traveling across genres and eras to better grasp the present moment.
