About the work

The title refers to the 1947 crash in New Mexico of a probe-like object or according to some, a UFO.
The intention behind choosing this camera was to explore the unsettling potential that can emerge from a camera filming at night. Since it is located in Honolulu, with an 11 hour time difference from mainland France, the shot from this camera is always immersed in darkness when viewed during the daytime in France. The aberrations and vibrations in the image, despite the shot being fixed, create a sense of activity almost a rhythm onto which the sound track is laid.
The location itself, a kind of radio antenna, seems to me to hold a narrative potential that is almost science-fictional when seen in the darkness. I therefore emphasized this idea by producing an atmospheric, and odd, sound design filled with suspense.
